What Are Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are tears in the dermis, the deeper layer of our skin, that occur as a result of the skin’s inability to withstand more stretching than usual. The main cause of stretch marks is hormonal changes. Various changes such as pregnancy, puberty, rapid weight gain or sudden weight loss cause changes in our hormones. As a result of these changes, our skin is stretched and stretch marks appear.

Contrary to common belief; weight gain, weight loss, and the muscles that are formed through intense exercise do not cause tension great enough to result in stretch marks in the body. Although these reasons are generally believed to be the main reason for the formation of stretch marks, the main reason is hormones and hormonal changes. Stretch marks appear as a reddened tear on the body at first. Over time, they turn white and appear as fine scars on the skin.

Stretch marks or striae, which affect one in every three women, cause appearance anxiety and are considered to be one of the most difficult aesthetic problems to treat.

What Causes Stretch Marks?

The skin connective tissue is made up of 80% collagen and 4% elastin fibers. Collagen and elastin are important proteins produced by the body that provide elasticity to the skin, and make the skin appear tighter.

The dermis, which is the middle layer of our skin, forms the basic framework of the skin with the fibers it contains. Collagen fibers, the main substance found in the dermis, maintain the strength and structural integrity of the skin and form a mesh together with the thinner elastin fibers. Stretch mark formation occurs as a result of the destruction of the basic framework that tightens the skin, the breakdown of collagen, and the tearing of elastin fibers.

The factors that trigger the formation of stretch marks include irregular and unhealthy dietary habits, lack of physical activity, old age, pregnancy, adolescence and sudden weight changes.

What is Biodermogenesi (Bi-One)?

Bi-One is the only scientifically proven method to eliminate stretch marks with long-lasting results. Unlike other treatments Bi-One does not damage the tissue. This procedure, which is based on the principle of introducing specific amino acid-based serums to the skin together with a biocompatible magnetic field, helps the tissues to biologically regenerate and self-renew.

In addition to stimulating collagen and elastin fibers, Bi-One ensures that melanocytes that produce melanin pigment regain their ability to produce pigments in usual colours and the stretch marks gain the same color as the other parts of the skin.

In the treatment process, from the first session, stretch marks lose their depth and a smoother appearance begins to be obtained. Bi-One treatment increases and stabilizes lymphatic blood circulation and normalizes the colour of stretch marks. The regeneration process continues until the colour of the stretch marks matches the skin. The results obtained with Bi-One are definite and permanent.

Which Parts of the Body Can It Be Applied to?

Although it varies depending on the width of the treatment site, Bi-One is usually applied to a single area. If the application site is too narrow, an additional application can be made to another area.

Body parts most frequently treated with Bi-One are as follows;

  • Breasts
  • Arms
  • Waist
  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Hips
  • Legs

What Is the Difference Between Bi-One and Other Applications?

The methods still in use today for stretch marks caused by hormonal changes are treatment systems based on the principle of creating micro-damage on the skin. Although improvement could be achieved to a certaim degree in the stretch marks on the skin surface with treatments such as Pulsed Dye laser and carboxytherapy, which have been applied for about 10 years in the treatment of early stretch marks, colouration could not be achieved on the skin.

There was no technology that could treat white stretch marks. However, with the Biodermogenesi method, it is now possible to achieve positive improvements and colouration in both earlier stage (red colored, stria distensa rubra) and old (white colored, stria distensa alba) stretch marks.

After years of R&D studies in Italy, the Bi-One system, which is the first method in the sector to treat stretch marks without damaging the skin, was invented. It has been proven by clinical studies that an average of 85% improvement is achieved using this system, and Bi-One has eliminated the stretch marks that were previously thought to have no available definitive treatment in the aesthetics industry.

The biggest advantage of Bi-One treatment is that it can be applied in the summer months. After the procedure, there is no need for sun protection, as with laser or similar treatments.

8-10 sessions of treatments are required for early period cracks, and 15-20 sessions of treatments are required for late period cracks. It is recommended to perform an average of 2 sessions per week in the treatment of stretch marks.

The session duration of Bi-One treatment is 45 minutes on average.
